Appointment of Mr. Alvin W. Jackson as Director

Canasil Resources Inc. (the "Company") is very pleased to announce that Mr. Alvin W. Jackson has agreed to join the Company as a member of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Jackson has had a distinguished career in the mining industry with 30 years experience as an exploration geologist and mining executive. He currently serves as a Director, President and Chief Operating Officer of EuroZinc Mining Corporation. He was previously President of Auspex Minerals Ltd., one of the predecessor corporations of EuroZinc. Prior to that, he held the position of exploration manager in Canada, Norway and New Zealand with the Amoco Minerals / Cyprus Minerals group.  

Mr. Jackson has extensive first hand experience in all aspects of the mining industry from exploration to mine development. He has been directly involved with the exploration drilling and pre-feasibility studies on two major gold deposits (Detour Lake, Ontario, Canada and Golden Cross in New Zealand) and one porphyry Copper deposit (Huckleberry, B.C., Canada), all of which subsequently became producers. At EuroZinc he has been directly involved with the major exploration and development project at Aljustrel in Portugal, involving identification of additional resources through to the feasibility and financial studies required to take the project to production.  

Mr. Jackson brings to the Company a wealth of experience in the technical and management aspects of the mining industry, which will substantially strengthen the Company’s Board of Directors. He is a Professional Geologist in British Columbia, a fellow of the Geological Association of Canada and a member of the C.I.M., and the B.C. and Yukon Chamber of Mines.
